I have searched the machine head for a serial number but cannot locate one anywhere on it. Any info you might be able to share on it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
AllenAlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05161862889410761058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-659210899076492988.post-34416703099887969182020-01-12T09:02:02.170-06:002020-01-12T09:02:02.170-06:00Have you found ISMACS yet? I just purchased a white treadle yesterday and have been feverishly looking on the web for some information on these machines and sad to say there isn't much. The only thing I've really discovered is that husqvarna viking no longer shares historical info on the white sewing machines.Cassandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17929670870588114190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-659210899076492988.post-53128988544272461722019-12-11T08:33:48.568-06:002019-12-11T08:33:48.568-06:00Thanks, Donna, for your question and, like a genie...Thanks, Donna, for your question and, like a genie in a bottle, Katie rose up to answer it! Although I don't write as often as I used to, I'm glad people are still reading it and find it helpful. Your book is going to be wonderful, Katie, and I'm on your list for a copy when you are ready. I just told my husband "Wow - Katie Farmer reads my blog!"Karennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-659210899076492988.post-19830136159558631132019-12-11T04:20:03.571-06:002019-12-11T04:20:03.571-06:00If you send me the serial number on your White VS,...If you send me the serial number on your White VS, I can give you a manufacture date, send a manual in a pdf file, and check out that tension for you. I have a jillion parts and would be happy to send you the missing parts if I have them.

I really enjoyed reading your blog. After Webshots crashed in 2012, I could not find a suitable host so that is when I decided I would need to write a book or two. After the book is finally ready for publication, I have a website name reserved that should help me get some of the finer points out there that are really needed.

Best wishes!

Katie Farmer

The White Sewing Machine Research Project

KF82479@aol.com

Katie Farmernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-659210899076492988.post-28055263107548246312019-12-10T12:00:52.083-06:002019-12-10T12:00:52.083-06:00I'm tickled to have found your blog! I just bought two ancient White treadle machines, one already partially disassembled for restoration, one still in its original (and horridly painted in an attempt at shabby chic).

I'm on the hunt now for the old manuals. I don't need the originals, so if I can find someone who's posted one online that I can read, that'll work.

Any thoughts on that?

One other question ... does Katie Farmer have a website, or blog? I'd like to follow her work since she focuses on Whites.

Thank you for any help you can send my way. I'm a long-time vintage machine lover, but a newbie at restoration.

Donna Becker
Dayton, Ohio
Curious Daylilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16563899107855768199noreply@blogger.com
